Last night we puttered into Land of the Dead. Its quite a giggle at first, but like all PvE-focused areas in WAR not something that will hold my attention particularly. I play WAR looking for enemy players to inflict misery upon and I’d be disappointed if those same enemies weren’t doing the same. For me, the PvE is just stuff to do between those times.

Inevitably Order eventually flip the zone back and thats really when the fun starts. I return from a PQ to near the Destruction warcamp area and we discuss on voice comms where to set up.

We formed up our alliance warband at the archway just down from the Destruction Warcamp and set a tank wall, with scouts out watching our flanks. I then started barking on regional chat for people to converge on us if they were at random in the zone. Pretty soon we had collected a very decent tank wall. We settled in to wait.

A few minutes later, sure enough, an Order warband came charging up the hill to the tunnel/archway. They skidded to a halt as they saw a tank wall at the other end just standing still, waiting. Purposeful they might have guessed. It would have been a good guess.

I waited until I was sure there were no more Order coming up the hill and called the charge. This will probably one of my most treasured memories on WAR to date – watching Order come skidding to a halt, milling around in confusion, our tanks perfectly still then suddenly errupting into a bloodthirsty tide that killed everything in its path.

This, to me, is WAAAAAGH.

We killed Order in simlar ways a few times. They started to smarten up and tried to flank us but our scouts were reporting in very good time all their movements. We continued to smash them apart. All good things come to an end. The non-alliance people rushed out into the center of the zone and we went elsewhere, too small in numbers to face the increasing tide of Order. We had a nice fight in the desert against greater numbers and down went our alliance warband.

A very very fun evening.

    Hey Roo,

I was one of those Order… and I turned and fled as soon as I saw the horde-on-a-leesh… cursing the leader of those WB in having such good control of his side.

Awesome work matey, proud of you…even if you are the enemy once again. 🙂

Problem with Order right now, is that they haven’t learnt what many of us learnt in Darkness Falls in DAoC… Clear the bloody zone first, THEN start questing… so half the time it’s a serious mission to get enough people to clear the zone. Although, there’s nothing so aggressively defensive as a mass of PQ’rs being disturbed. 🙂
